What are we going to do

We will meet on a beautiful countryside location surrounded by Finnish forest. We'll take a short walk in the forest. During the walk you will learn about Finnish everyones rights, edible plants, how to use different natural materials for eg. making cordage or healing wounds. You will be handed a traditional Finnish puukko knife and taught the safe use of it. You'll learn carving feathersticks to light the fire. Fire will be lit the traditional way, using flint and steel. By fire we will enjoy tea made from the plants gathered during our walk.

Please note: During the forest fire warning we can not make fire. In that case we will practice other useful bushcraft skills and spend more time on out tour marveling the wonders of the boreal forest.

About Sampo - the Doer

I'm a wilderness guide specialized in survival skills, traditional bushcraft skills and using natural materials. I have been hiking the boreal forests and open tundra for more than two decades, constantly trying to develop my skills on safe outdoor life. My knowledge on survival and bushcraft I have learned in Finnish military special forces and Finnish Survival Guild. I've been instructor on Guilds Outdoor safety courses for several years and work as a wilderness guide in Lapland in the wintertime teaching people ice climbing, winter survival, snowmobiling and the magic of the mighty boreal forests.
