What are we going to do

We warmly welcome you to join us to spend a unique cottage day with us. We can do together things as we usual do in summer cottage. You can experience the beautiful and unique Finnish nature around you.
We can carry water from the lake to sauna. There is not running water. We can heat up the wood sauna and after that experience “löylyt” in the Finnish wood sauna. Traditional way to relax is dip in the lake and return to sauna. You can feel amazing relaxation after that!
After sauna we can set a fire outside and cook BBQ by the fire. If it’s raining we can cook inside. The cottage is renovated, cozy and located very near to lake Saimaa. The beach is low so it is very suitable for children. If you like to explore more activities it is possible to go rowing, stand up paddling, playing “mölkky” or picking wild berries. But don’t forget the experience to outdoor toilet!

We have possibility to see some water birds as swans and wild ducks around the cottage area. If you are very lucky there is possible to see endangered Finnish wild animal, Saimaannorppa.

Finnish nature and cottage culture are very unique. The only way to understand it, is to explore it by yourself!
We recommend you stay with us from around 03.00 pm till around 9.00 pm. If you are able to stay around 10 pm it is possible to see very beautiful sunset (depends on weather).

Villa Sulona is located Pihlajalahti, near to Savonlinna (15 km from the city).
