Fun stories from the past

Rauma, Finland
Available in Finnish, English, Estonian and Russian
1 hour 30 minutes
20 spots per experience

What are we going to do

Old Rauma was selected for the UNESCO World Heritage List as a unique example of a living and well-maintained old Nordic wooden town. It is a town of over 600 old houses and 150 businesses.

You have cafes, museums, and maybe concerts and yard flea markets within a short walking distance.
We see a modest sailor’s house and stylish upper-class houses of the ship owners.
We stop talking to a bobbin lace maker or an artist.

You do not want this to be a history class, but you want all the fun facts from the past that help understand life in the 1800s.

Start of the tour at the Holy Cross Church (Pyhän Ristin kirkko). Address: Luostarinkatu 1

(Minimum 4 clients or 48 eur per tour. I make an exception on July 4th, 2021).

About Rauma guide Kairi - the Doer

I am a licensed tour guide. I help you spend a memorable time in the old town of Rauma. We can be spontaneous and make a tour according to your interests, hobbies, weather or your ability to walk.

I bring you to the life it was 100 years ago. I mix the past and present in my funny stories.
I try not to be a typical tour guide talking routine text full of dates and names. I take into account your interests and the fact that it might be your first and last time in the city of Rauma.
