What are we going to do
Hanna is a small, traditional wooden sailboat. Her kind were originally used in the Finnish and Swedish archipelago for fishing, trading and transportation.
Sailing on a wooden boat in Finnish archipelago is an experience like no other: the silence, the connection to nature and water, the smell and sound of wood will transport you to another place and time.
You don't need to be an experienced sailor. This two hours long trip is especially suitable for people who dream of sailing but don't know where to begin. We will go through the basics of sailing on dock and you will learn on the water. Your captain will be with you all the time, so if you'd rather just enjoy the ambiance and let someone else do the sailing, that's alright too.
Hanna doesn't have any engine, so we do this old school: sails and rowing if needed. Part of the sailing experience is to understand that we are dependent on the nature and wind: some days the wind takes us far and fast, some days are for more tranquil enjoyment. One thing can be guaranteed: Hanna and Hamari-village are extremely photogenic in any weather.
Your captain Milla has sailed the area a thousand times. She also rents kayaks and does history tours on kayaks. Milla is very into the village history, so while sailing, you might hear stories of the olden times: how Hamari-built sailing ships sailed the seven seas, some never to be seen again. How the whole village, including children used to work on a sawmill that has since disappeared. How a Hamari-born Native American used to build totems in the woods. All true stories.
Hanna seats comfortably four sailors + captain. In good weather more sailors can be taken onboard, but that can't be guaranteed until the day of the sail. The price will stay the same, regardless of the number of the sailors. Dress warm: it's always windier and colder on water. Lifejackets will be provided, for small children you should bring your own.
The experience is suitable for children aged six and up. The boat is small and a bit unsteady (like a rowboat). You should be nimble enough to move around on the boat. We sail on any weather except heavy rain, thunder and strong, gusty wind. Safety first! If the weather conditions are not suitable, you will be informed via email and payment returned.
Are you ready to experience the archipelago the authentic way?

About Milla - the Doer
This village has always been magical to me: the history, the sea, the people. I was lucky enough to move here a couple of years ago and haven't stopped being on a vacation since. I study the village history a lot and most of my free time is spent at the sea. It would be very selfish of me not to invite other people to experience the magic of Hamari-bubble.

Milla otti meidä kierrokselle vaikka olin varannut ajan väärälle päivälle. Hän pelasti meidän päivän. Kierros oli ihana ja suosittelen sitä kaikille. Milla otti hienosti huomioon viittomakielisen isäni <3
