Our cooking will start by collecting the ingredients - grab your basket and head out with me to the forested hill of Muoniovaara. Depending on the season we can find wild herbs and salad ingredients, mushrooms to cook a stew or a pie and arctic berries.
Let`s have a break in the middle of forest to cook coffee and wild herb infusion on an open fire. When we have enough ingredients we can return to my home yard where our outdoor kitchen is. In case of lousy weather or forest fire warning we will cook inside of our 100 year old timber house.
We prepare a meal with wild salad, main course with mushrooms and berries for dessert. Don`t worry if it`s too early for mushrooms - I do have good stockings from previous summer.
Then it is time to enjoy the tasty experience by the fire and tell stories about life in Lapland.

I have always felt at home outdoors and the nature around me in Lapland inspires me: I enjoy it every season by skiing, hiking, canoeing and relaxing. Just sitting by the fire watching it burn works like a good TV show for me.
I am a huge nature-product enthusiast since my childhood when I started picking up berries and mushrooms with my grandmother so I know the eatable things in the forest by heart.
Dress according to the weather - if you feel you are lacking something let me know so I can see if I find it in my (or my boyfriend`s) wardrobe.
