Lake Puruvesi - known for its crystal clear waters - provides you with a day-cruise filled with picturesque landscapes and fascinating stories. During the 3-hour cruise the rich cultural and natural history of Puruvesi will be explored. Topics include for example the Sámi pre-history of the lake, Savonian and Karelian borderland histories, mythic epic rune singing, as well as the intangible heritage of the seine fishery in Puruvesi.

The cruise heads off from the fish base of Kesälahti towards Käräjäkallio island, and continues its way to Linnasaari island, where it is possible to have a snack break by campfire, and to Mantsi shoal. Alternative routing is possible on request.

About Lakeland Karelia - the Doer

Amazing nature! Because of nature and strong four seasons, we live here in Eastern Finland. We have snowy winter and so strong ice cover of the lakes that you even can drive there with a car.

There are lots of wide nature and unspoiled forests in Karelia. Finland’s legal concept of everyman’s right gives everyone the chance to enjoy outdoor pursuits, and the freedom of the country’s vast forests and fells, and many lakes and rivers, with few restrictions. Public access to private land is much wider in Finland than in most other countries. Read more:

People in Karelia area are very friendly and welcoming and that’s why we wish you to join our life in Karelia. We believe that our guests respect our idea: Live like locals.

Mahtava retki! Milloin vaan uudestaan❤❤

Alku jännityksen jälkeen aivan mahtava kokemus! Tainalle kiitokset hyvästä opetuksesta. Ihana paikka, kiitos Sisko!

Opin itsekin paljon uutta.

Erittäin opettavainen, mukava, hyvin järjestetty ja onnistunut melontaretki.
