What are we going to do

We will sail out of a marina in eastern Helsinki. The boat is a 10 m long sailing boat (2004) with running water, heater, stove, toilet. You'll need suitable clothes, windstopper jacket, gloves, beanie and sports shoes. Safety vest is provided by the boat. We will make a tour in the nearby archipelago, avoiding open sea and enjoying the scenery. You will hear about sailing and living in archipelago, about the history of the places we see. We may stop at an island for a snack or have the snack aboard.

About Jyrki - the Doer

I've been boating for more than 30 years in Helsinki. Mostly pleasure boating with sailing boats, but I have also worked on the sightseeing boats and taken childrens' camps out sailing on a bigger boat. I think the archipelago in front of Helsinki is quite special and want to share that with everyone. I have a licence for commercial sailing activities for max 8 people.

Requirements

Suitable clothes for possibly cold wind, windstopper jacket, gloves and beanie, soft sports shoes with non marking soles. You will probably sit outside while sailing. The sailing itself is easy, not too much inclination and no need to wrestle with the ropes. At landfall someone helps with the ropes and everyone needs to climb a short ladder and jump a little to get ashore.
