Welcome to Helsinki, the capital of Finland! Helsinki is a wonderful place to ride around with bicycles because there are a lot of cycle paths. The Helsinki town atmosphere can be felt best from the saddle of a bicycle, and you can visit most of the major sites of the town. You will get a good view of the parks and monuments, churches and of course, the Market Square.
Helsinki has currently approximately 100. 000 citizens and the area is formed by 3 different towns Helsinki, Vantaa, and Espoo. The parks and lanes are beautiful and rather safe places to ride with a bicycle, and our route has been planned to go around the main city area.
Our tour can be fully customized according to your requests. Please ask for a special route!
Starting from the agreed point, like your hotel or from the cruise ship port, we make a bicycle tour around the most beautiful sites of the town. Our tour can include a visit to Sibelius Monument, The Rock Church, Finlandia House, Helsinki Music Center, Kiasma - Museum of Contemporary Art, Railway Station and the Esplanade park. One of the main attractions are of course the Dome Cathedral and the Market Square. We will drive around the southern Helsinki city area. You will see the beautiful Jugend-type houses and parks. This tour route can also be customized during the day, I am open to discuss about it with you!
The day ends with a return ride back to the starting point.
About Timo - the Doer
I am a Nature and Wilderness guide, with a professional ability to work as a tourist guide in Helsinki. I am also able to take you to Suomenlinna as an authorized guide, although it is not allowed to ride bikes there. I have started as a tourist guide year 2013, and I have professional education for this kind of lifestyle and profession. I used to be 39 years as an computer engineer, but that was not nice... so now it is the time to enjoy life!
As we are moving around Helsinki with modern bicycles, it is essential that you are familiar with driving a bicycle! We will provide the safety helmets and reflective vests and provide the bicycles to starting point. Please take weather-suitable clothing with you and good shoes - no high heels or flip-flops!
