What are we going to do
Welcome to our unique coffee roasting experience! During this event, you will have the opportunity to roast 1kg of your choice of coffee with a professional guiding you through the entire process. You will also be able to taste different coffees, led by our expert, to gain a better understanding of the nuances of each type of coffee. Join us and discover the exciting world of specialty coffee roasting! Our roastery is located in Hankasalmi, in the heart of the Finnish countryside, surrounded by peaceful nature and a traditional family farm. At the end of the experience, you will take home your freshly roasted coffee, so you can enjoy it for days to come!
About Tahkoselän Paahtimo - the Doer
After finding an old coffee grinder in my familyfarm decade ago, I decided to try if coffee would taste better if freshly-ground. The difference was huge and that's when I started to delve into the world of coffee. I vividly remember the first time I tasted high-quality freshly-ground coffee. It was a revolutionary moment for me and I realized there was no going back. Soon I started working at the Paahtimo Papu in Jyväskylä, which gave me the opportunity to hone my barista skills, taste various coffee beans, and most importantly help improve people's coffee experience.
I have always enjoyed travelling and exploring different cultures. I have experienced numerous coffee cultures around the world and have been to coffee farms in Laos and Nepal.
After travelling the world, I have finally returned to my home and, after two years of practice in roasting, I founded the Tahkoselän Paahtimo in 2021.
