- Opportunity to swim in the Baltic Sea
- Delicious Finnish cinnamon bun

Who can join?
- Anyone who wishes to see something new from Helsinki and hear some stories about local lifestyle.
- On this tour no-one is discriminated. You can join regardless of your ethnic or cultural background, language, religion or belief, physical capability, gender identity, gender representation or sexual orientation. Where you come from is not important. All you need is a willingness to explore curiously.
- Perfect choice for responsible travellers, expats, immigrants or and English speaking locals.

Please note that if you are looking for a history loaded tour showcasing only the highlights of Helsinki, then this tour is not for you. ;) We are more about hidden gems, having a good time and enjoying the nature responsibly. If you don't mind being distracted and occasionally stopping to admire local animals, birds and bypassing cute dogs - then you have found the right tour for you!

This tour starts from Vuosaari metro station and finishes at the Aurinkolahti Beach for an optional swim. Once the tour is finished your host will also give you heaps of ideas on how to continue your explorations in the east.

Note that these tours are organised for small groups only. We will monitor the guidelines from city of Helsinki regarding covid-19 and if necessary, react accordingly.

About Kati P - the Doer

I have always been curious and passionate about travelling and exploring new places near and far. A few years ago I finally had the guts to quit my full-time office job to travel around the world. I set myself a goal not to return home before finding a new, more meaningful and fulfilling, career for myself. It took me 14 months of travelling, camping, selling children's books, flipping pancakes, and hosting jolly backpackers on a sailboat in Australia to figure out that I definitely want to work with people and create positive experiences.

My passion for tourism had reignited, but I knew I did not want to work within mass-tourism. I wanted to focus on smaller groups and more genuine experiences. So eventually I became an entrepreneur offering Tour Leader services for small groups who want to truly engage with local culture, people, and way of life.

An active lifestyle is what keeps me positive no matter what. Sports and outdoors are my ultimate passions. For years I played ice hockey and later floorball. I also love all sorts of bodyweight training incl. yoga, pilates, barre, aquafit, surfing, SUP, kayaking, and anything outdoors really.

Due to COVID-19 traditional travelling has come to a halt, but it does not mean that we should stop learning about different lifestyles and destinations. While I am now stuck in my beloved Helsinki I would be more than happy to share some of my favourite hidden gems with you!

I thoroughly enjoyed my light exercise/walking activity with Kati this morning. She's very informative, attentive to questions, and is so happy to be sharing about Finland. The snow was gorgeous...even had some cross country skiiers shout out "Hello from Finland!" during the tour. I can't wait to visit this location on my next (and 2nd) visit to Finland. This is a great activity to do in the time of covid - thanks, Kati!

A very nice and encouraging walk experience! It’s a good way to have 30min light exercise while seeing the hidden gems of Helsinki, which I’d love to visit some day myself! Unique tour and Kati’s been very cheerful and sweet.

Ihanan virkistävä paussi työpäivään aurinkoisen Katin seurassa. Puolessa tunnissa ehti nähdä yllättävän paljon Helsinkiä ja saada mukavaa liikettä kroppaan. Parhaiten vietetty tauko vähään aikaan. :)

The tour is a really nice way to get some new ideas to where to look for street art and to see a different side of Helsinki. Kati is out there on location and she'll walk you through the different scenes. You can also ask questions. Can recommend this experience!
